What to Do
Chris Johns’ perfect day in Vancouver by Experience Wish: My driver, Giorgio, waited in the Metropolitan Hotel Vancouver’s Jaguar sedan to take me to the harbour. Here I met Jeremy Slater of Simplicity Sailing Charters. We sailed under the Lions Gate Bridge and over to Granville Island, where Cecilia Yong from the culinary concierge service Edible British Columbia guided me around the market. We drank exotic teas, snacked on chocolate croissants and listened to an old-timey busker. Then Giorgio drove me across town for lunch at Raincity Grill. All of the food I ate – clams with chorizo, trout with tarragon and potato purée – comes from within 100 miles of the restaurant. After lunch, I visited Holt Renfrew where my personal shopper Saeed Esmaeilioun greeted me, and with sales manager Sanders Yee picked fabric and fitted me for a dress shirt. Then it was back in the Jag. I stopped at the boutique health club Penthouse for a session with a personal trainer and a private yoga lesson. The day was topped off with a massage. Now that’s wish fulfillment.
