23 JoJo the Dolphin
The Turks and Caicos’ most famous dolphin can be as rare a sight as the real Elvis in Las Vegas (on windier days, JoJo tends to be shy). Anyone spotting the bottle-nosed celebrity from the beach at Hemingway’s Restaurant is required to immediately ring a huge bell hanging nearby. If JoJo is reluctant to put in an appearance, ask your excursion captain to show you the new stars of the seas: manta rays.

24 tropical Spa
Life is good when you’re lying in an open-air treatment room at KiYara Ocean Spa with the ocean a stone’s throw away and holistic practitioner Carolyn Dobson slathering ginger and coconut concoctions all over your body. Ayurvedic and Fijian traditions, local Jamaican ingredients and outdoor showers give the spa a deliciously tropical flavour. Winston Churchill frequently vacationed in style at the adjacent Jamaica Inn, but we bet he never had it this good.

25 Mrs. Scatliffe’s
The best West Indian cooking is found at Mrs. Scatliffe’s on Tortola island. The octogenarian serves up her famous spicy conch soup and curried goat on the upstairs terrace of her home – and she’ll even throw in a performance of evangelical songs.

26 The Sign at Chris Place
“Gentlemen,
This bar is dedicated to those who make drinking a pleasure
Who reach contentment before capacity
And who, whatever they drink can take it, hold it
And still remain gentlemen.”

27 Tall Tale Cruise
Catch the Wave Charters Captain Allen Ray Smith is a man of multiple talents. He’s also a photographer, chef and raconteur – and, in genuine sea wolf fashion, barely exaggerates his exploits in the retelling. As you lazily chart your own course around the Turks and Caicos aboard one of the craft in the flotilla, he’ll regale you with tales of his adventures with the jet set. (If celebrity gossip isn’t your bag, he has plenty of pirate tales as well.)
