What’s more romantic than a night in a historic cliffside chateau? Between 60 and 80 couples get married at the Château Frontenac each year, and at least one honeymoon a night is celebrated there. For romance even without the “I do,” wander the streets of Old Quebec in a horse-drawn carriage, gaze at the St. Lawrence River from the Dufferin Terrace, or better still, get room service to scatter rose petals and chill champagne, and never make it out of your room.

Beyond the Sea

Freshly harvested sea lettuce and Alaria frequently crop up on the restaurant’s menu in dishes like their tasty Porphyra seaweed rolls. And in the day spa, seaweed oil accompanies the more typical rosemary, peppermint and ylang-ylang oils. Even the backyard hasn’t gone untouched: Seaweed nurtures the soil of the on-site gardens, where 100 culinary herbs and 125 edible flowers sprout.
