Artist Josée Pedneault and photographer Christophe Collette speak the same visual language with this art project-cum-correspondence. Instead of letters, the couple swapped photos – Pedneault from Hong Kong and Macau, and Collette from Montreal. A cupid on a placemat at a diner back home mirrors heart-shaped Asian sweets; a cable car ride over Lan Tao Island resonates with a tangle of Montreal electrical wires. The result is a shared look at two faraway places. As she explains, “I’m interested in the powerful relationship between images and in what you can create by bringing them together.” Flip the pages to read their evocative correspondence.
