THE JAZZ CATS

You could call them old souls. When he was just 13 years old, Michael found his unlikely metier, boogie-woogie piano. Denzal Sinclaire earned his chops playing silky-voiced tribute to Nat King Cole and swinging old standards before finding his current keyboard groove. As for the elder statesman of big-band jazz, Senator Tommy Banks still tickles the ivories at Edmonton’s Yardbird Suite (whose street is named after him) when he’s not a key player in Ottawa. Pedals to the metal, boys.
