THE PROVOCATEURS

Four years ago, Toronto-bred, Berlin-based Peaches raised eyebrows and ire with her sexually charged, gender-bending debut album. She has since survived the electroclash crash, outpunked Iggy Pop and seduced legions of fans around the world. Her fusion of unapologetically raunchy rhymes and performance art pay homage to the hero of her teenage years, Carole Pope of Rough Trade. With bandmate Kevan Staples, Pope created one of Canada’s most unorthodox bands and controversial hits like "High School Confidential." Sure, today’s divas have pipes. But these chicks have balls.
