THE BIG VOICES

Tenor Ben Heppner started out as a Mennonite farmer’s son, but is now a king of the opera world. His legacy? Courtiers in the wings. John Mac Master used to be a garage band rocker, but with 10 years of international acclaim under his belt he may just be the heir to the tenor throne. Then there’s larger-than-life soprano Measha Brueggergosman, an anti-diva who’s equally comfortable performing on stage with Bobby McFerrin or in front of Queen Elizabeth. In this kingdom, it’s go big or go home.
