THE ROOTS REVIVALISTS
With a career now spanning close to a half-century, Ronnie Hawkins (whose early group The Hawks evolved without him into The Band) was a pioneer importer of southern-fried, countrified rock. After almost 20 years together, Blue Rodeo continues to nourish those roots and put down new ones incorporating airy folk harmonies and down-to-earth melodies. Not only have they brought new life to country rock, theyve exported it back to the States. May the circle be unbroken.
