WHERE TO EAT

1  Al Iwan  In the Burj Al Arab. The food is brought to you concealed under a metal dome. The moment it’s revealed, the waiters do a funny dance around the table while clanging the tin domes together. Fabulous.

4  Vu’s  At the top of the Emirates Towers Hotel. Sublime French and fusion cuisine at spectacular prices, though the view at dusk is worth twice the price.
Sheik Zayed Road

Aviation Club, Garhoud

6  India House  Where Indian expats go for the real thing at a reasonable price. Expect fascinating if slightly dodgy gossip about the royal family from any waiter in the place.
8 & 9 Al Hisn Street, Bur Dubai
Tel. 971-4-352-6006

7  Aeroplane Restaurant  Wacky, wackier, wackiest: three rooms done up like the interiors of three different aircraft... Oh please, get over yourself. It’ll be fun.
