Id come down from a mountaintop for this rarified blend of Zen monastery and hipster hang and for Victoria chef Sam Benedettos parade of small tasting plates. Mostly local organic ingredients meet worldly influences to produce sautéed veal sweetbreads and pickled beets on frisée with a walnut emulsion, or spotted shrimp cakes with Ragley Farm greens and parsley-bacon vinaigrette. Roasted halibut gets a pleasing tweak from browned butter but then a surprising uppercut from baby bok choy. And just when you think its goodnight nurse, youre finished off with a scoop of wicked jalapeno chocolate ice cream and an after burn youll remember fondly on your way out the door.
