Back for seconds? Expanding last year’s top-five rankings, our second annual survey pegs the 10 best new tables in a country that’s full of culinary surprises – a land where a cafeteria-style lunch can rank right up there with fine French cuisine and where innovative dishes and nostalgia fixes can happily coexist on the same menu. We called upon our nationwide roster of professional foodies to recommend restaurants that opened between June 2002 and June 2003. Then we took off for a month of intense eating at 42 new tables across the country. And just so you know, worldwide woes didn’t affect the imagination, ingenuity and general deliciousness of this year’s best new restaurants. In fact, there’s never been a better time for dining out in Canada.
